This is our 4th year as a swim team, although our program has been operating as a SWIM AMERICA swim lessons program, Ms. Jane's Swim School LLC, for over a decade. Thanks to our HOA partnerships, we are excited to offer a Swim Team again this summer! Working with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation (TAAF), we can offer our swimmers the opportunity for region-wide competitive swim meets against Region 4 participants to help grow the sport of swimming for Braswell/Little Elm Area athletes. Many of our swimming locations are the same that are used for High School and USA Swim Meets.
This program is appropriate for swimmers 6 and up who have mastered freestyle swimming with continuous side breathing for a short distance and can swim on their backs. Swimmers will learn how to tread water, dive from the sitting, kneeling, and standing positions, and work on their endurance in freestyle. And learn to compete at swim meets.
Swimmers will also learn:
-
COMPETITION EXPERIENCE
-
BACKSTROKE
-
BUTTERFLY
-
BREASTSTROKE
-
FLIP TURNS
-
INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY
-
STARTS
-

PERSONAL NOTE: I Coach high school swimming at Plano Senior High and also Club Coach at a local club team. This program, is just a way to introduce swim lesson kids to the swimming as a "sport." The goal is to help build future high school swimmers. It's an entry-point to see if its something they like and they get to progress their knowledge of all 4 strokes and do this with other kids their age. They also get to practice competition in a safe place with other kids at the same level. If they do other sports it's a great way to get additional exercise. There are a lot of kids who learned to swim in our lessons program, that went on the swim summer league, advanced to Club swimming, represented their high schools, and even went to pursue aquatics in college! I love the 380 area and would love to see future swimmers come from our area. - Coach Jane
